LOUGHBOROUGH BEACON ROTARY CHARITY GOLF DAY

19TH JUNE 2023 AT LONGCLIFFE GOLF CLUB.

After storms on Sunday evening, we approached competition day with trepidation, however, the dawn came with sunshine and so it stayed all day long. 

The course was in wonderful condition and there was some great golf played and some high scoring. The raffle table looked wonderful and took over £600, the Par 3 Challenge was well supported and generated over £200 for the Wolds First Responders and we remembered the various supporters we have recently lost.

The Presentation, the dinner and the auction all went well, and it appeared that everyone had a good evening. Overall, the funds raised were over £4000 to be divided up between MNDA, the Wolds First Responders and the numerous charities supported through Beacon Rotary’s charity fund. The volunteers from MNDA, Amazon and Rotary did a superb job, and their efforts were appreciated by the competitors.

Special thanks go to all the hole sponsors, the donors of raffle prizes, golf prizes and the auction and sincere thanks also to Longcliffe Golf Club, David Mee and the Pro shop, Michael Bunney and the greens staff, Paul Price and the bar and catering staff, Adrian Wood and the admin team and to all competitors and all involved with the day.
